2019 “Wynnsday” Pre-Release Dinner


“Wynnsday” it’s the one day each year that all Wynns wine lovers wait patiently for.

Traditionally, Wynns Coonawarra Estate will wait till the first Wednesday of August to release their latest collection – hence “Wynnsday”! 

This year, the esteemed Winemakers have let the suspense build up a little longer and will be releasing the 2019 Collection on Wednesday 2nd of October. In celebration of the much awaited release, the Mail Exchange Hotel will be hosting a 4 course dinner, especially paired with 6 of the newest releases.

But that’s not all – we have Wynns Head Winemaker Sarah Pidgeon joining the evening to take us through the heart and craft that was put into creating some of the best wines Australia has produced.

Not only was Sarah nominated as Winemaker of The Year Finalist for the 2019 Gourmet Traveller Awards, she has also played an essential part in creating the iconic wines for over 20 years. We can’t wait to welcome Sarah to the Mail Exchange Hotel!

To complement each of the wines, our Head Chef Wayne Mountford has thoughtfully designed a menu that will highlight the flavours of each drop.

Starting with, confit salmon rillette en croute, caper mayo paired a fresh and bright Wynns Riesling, displaying crunchy citrus notes of lemon curd, lime, cumquat and grapefruit. Followed by a delicate Cobia ceviche dressed with Tiger’s milk, agave, coriander and jalapeno, enjoyed with Wynns “Banker” Chardonnay.

Sound mouth watering? That’s just the beginning – just wait till you see the rest of the menu!

Put simply, if you’re a lover of good food and great wine, you don’t want to miss this one.
